CATL Launches Battery with a 1000-Kilometer Range
Chinese electric vehicle battery manufacturer CATL recently unveiled a new lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a range of over 1000 kilometers. According to reports from Reuters, Jiemian News, and the Securities Times, CATL introduced the battery, named “Shenxing PLUS,” at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. This battery not only boasts a long range but also features fast-charging capabilities, allowing a 600-kilometer range with just a 10-minute charge. LFP batteries are more environmentally friendly compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries, making them increasingly popular in the market. Gao Huan, Chief Technology Officer of CATL’s Domestic Passenger Car Division, stated that the Shenxing PLUS battery is the world’s first LFP battery with such a high range. He also mentioned that four car models currently use the company’s Shenxing Supercharged Battery, which was released last year with a 700-kilometer range, and plans to launch over 50 models equipped with this battery within the year. ...
